There are many low carb alcoholic drinks that are available today. However how much truth is there to the low carb alcoholic drinks? With the world trying to wake up to the realities of cabs today and how much of a danger it poses to the body, there are people around the world that are looking around for slogans that say low carbs and fat free. However it is important to understand the importance and the meanings of these words before blindly buying such products. The companies are trying to milk the market with such ads which are bringing them a lot of profit because today a healthy lifestyle has become more of a trend. First to talk about alcohol, almost every adult has consumed some amount of alcohol today. One should know where the carbs come from. Fermented drinks that come from grapes or resins usually have the maximum amount of carbs. This means drinks that constitute of fruits extracts like wine etc will have the maximum amount of carbohydrates. However drinks like vodka rum or whiskey are distilled many times over. The finest of the drinks are distilled as much as 5 times. These have nothing to do with the carbohydrates. Therefore you can be sure that even if you are on a low carb diet having these drinks will be safe for you. Some liquor has added sugar in them. These are not recommended. Nor are cocktails that have high sugar content and other fruit extracts in them that will only raise the level of carbohydrates. Also one should remember never to drink on an empty stomach as it can cause the blood sugar to become erratic.
